My Son Thinks I Am The Coolest Mum

I am walking on cloud 999 because my son thinks I am the coolest mum in the world. For me this is a massive honour as my oldest son never usually shares his feelings. He lives in a world of his own occasionally he lets people into his world but it is only for a brief visit.

Why am I so cool. Well I play Assassin’s Creed on the X-box I enjoy completing the challenges. In the latest Assassin Creed game, you have to sail the seven seas and defeat the ships and forts. I always struggle to do these sort of challenges as my canons never seem to end up where I want.

Luke on the other hand comes and takes over the control and destroys the forts and ships on his first go. As he nonchalantly holds the control by his side, with not a care in the world. Jumping up and down with excitement, he becomes lost in the swashbuckling adventure.

Yesterday he came home and presented me with a card he made at school for me. He was so impressed I had completed all the missions on Assassin’s Creed he had made me a congratulations card. For a period of time Luke and me have a common interest, that has no barriers. For me Luke thinking I am the coolest mum in the world is the biggest complement.

  1. that is great! I’m totally rubbish at any of their computer game so I guess my kids will never think i’m a cool mum. Glad to hear you’re having fun with him xxx

  2. My son gave up trying to teach me computer games (I was secretly relieved) but it means I miss out on his world — brilliant that you are able to share in Luke’s :)

  3. What a fantastic gift, and one I know you will treasure. It’s great there is something you connect with and experience together. I have a feeling I will have to get back into gaming in the future!

Thanks for linking up with Small Steps Amazing Achievements :0)

    • Hi Jane thank you for your comment.

I think if we can find a common interest with the kids, it helps in so many ways doesn’t it ? Yes gaming can be lots of fun :)
