Yes after 4 long years without a holiday. Fate has always intervened before as we either couldn’t afford to go away or like last year my health took a nose dive so wasn’t able to go away or even days out. I feel sorry for the children as they have had to endure being stuck at home and listen to their friends telling them all about their wonderful holidays.
Well this year we took the bull by the horns and booked a camping holiday in Scotland. After lots of consideration I felt the kids wouldn’t be able to cope with the crowds in hotels, certainly wouldn’t cope with being on a plane. ( That part is wishful thinking, its far too expensive to go abroad ).
To get in the spirit we are going to the Camping and Caravan show at the NEC to look at tents and all the equipment. I am slightly excited about all this and are really looking forward to be able to go away and have a change of scenery from these 4 walls.
I think it would do the Savettes some good as well as getting lots of fresh air. Don’t worry about Storm (the puppy ) he is coming with us. All i need to do now is look for a tent big enough for the 6 of us plus dog. I have fallen in love with the Vango Air beam tents – being able to put a tent up in minutes – definitely a dream tent.
When we told the Savettes they were going on holiday there were squeals of delight.

Fantastic! Hope you all have a lovely time – and your midge repellent! x
Thank you Rhoda x
Great news. We are big campers so give me a shout if you need a hand with anything. One thing I would say, is get a tent that has a sewn in ground sheet. Stops everything getting yet. Outwell is a great make for tents and equipment x

Thank you lovely xx
Oh I’m squealing with delight for you! That’s amazing! It’s one of those things I take for granted isnt it? I can just bung the kids on the car and off we go, but obviously you have way more to take into account. We can afford in our little trips because *whsipers* I’m obsessed with second hand!! Everything I buy is always either second hand or in the sale allowing those pennies I’ve saved to let us go away, though we’ve never left the country.
Let me know if you do a blog post about all the tents! I’m wanting to take the boys to some festivals as they get older but that means having to buy tents! x x

Thank you Emma
It’s nice that you can go away and give the boys different experiences. My children are now getting used to the idea of going away but it does takes months of planning in advance but will be worth it.
I am the same as you wait and get things in the sale – bargain hunters
